About

My name is Rowland Kao; I’m a Canadian mathematical population biologist working at the University of Glasgow, and formerly Director of the Boyd Orr Centre for Population and Ecosystem Health at the University of Glasgow. I initiated this blog to offer an informal means of communication amongst members of the Boyd Orr Centre and also a window on the centre for the rest of the world. In and amongst this, I’ll undoubtedly spend a bit of time telling you about the scientific fields that I’m interested in, as well as any other ramblings that cross my mind. I am also hoping that, with a bit of encouragement, members of the Boyd Orr Centre community will use it to post their own ‘blogging’ thoughts.
